All that goes in behind the scenes...amazing!!

Just received this crew photo.  Wow!  There are always a ton of folks coming and going all over the place at all times but to see everyone at once is wild....and this would be considered a small crew for this level of production. :-o

What a wonderful whirlwind for the last several weeks!  Picture wrap today for both Avi and Christine on the same scene in The Song. :-)

Look at all those blue eyes.  She, Christine and Cheyenne had so much fun together and made a picture perfect family....hearts and looks. :-)

Andy and Avi were such a great team. She LOVED the way he directed....seriously, they were like peas-in-a-pod and their styles and were such a perfect match.  She can't wait to work together again. :-)

Yesterday was her last day filming with Christopher Lloyd.  She said that he was fun to film with although fairly quiet.  Not at all like his crazy characters but his character as Pops in this film is pretty low key and a "man of little but important words".
She asked him if he'd mind signing the front page of her script and he said he was thrilled to.  He wrote her a note that she was a pure delight and wished her the best in everything.  They hugged several times and she told him how much she enjoyed working with him and he said the same.  That was one beaming little girl!! :-)

Daddy and the boys got to come up and visit for awhile yesterday.  Yea, they raided the craft table...loaded up on gummy bears and soda. LOL!!

Toe is quite proud of his eye crossing these days. :-)

Eeeewwww!  He's stinky.  No, she's stinky!

She had so much fun filming with Kevin again today.  He is a blast to visit with and they got along great.

All but one of her scenes today were with Christopher Lloyd.  He is super nice but surprisingly quiet.

Chillin' out between takes.

"The Song" Filming

Avi's stand-in Sophie.  She is super sweet and only almost 8 and the same size as Avi!  A stand-in does just that...stands in for the actor while the actor takes a break and the crew is resetting/moving camera angles so that they can get the cameras, light, etc. in the right place.  They didn't have any photo doubles for this film which is someone that is used when an actor's work hours are up and they need them from the side or back on camera.  Photo doubles are used mostly on "dinner scenes".  Dinner/meal scenes are notoriously long to film since they have to do many, many takes from all different angles.

This was on their first day of filming playing an iPhone game called "Heads Up" that Cheyenne (playing her dad) introduced her to.  They play it all the time now.  That's Christine Woods (playing her mom) with them.  They both adore Avi and they've all been having a great time together.  Christine is so sweet and she and I have been having a blast visiting...Avi gets to talk her ear off when they are on set. LOL!!  Cheyenne is so fun and like being around a big kid.

This is what they call "Video Village" where the director, producers and script supervisor sit to watch the monitors.  On bigger productions like this one, they run two cameras called A Cam and B Cam.  A is usually the one on whoever's turn it is to have their close up and B is running from a more far off angle.

It's suppose to be Christmas time so that's why the decorations and winter clothes.  Note - this was the very first day of filming for the whole movie and they were filming part of the LAST scene of the movie.  Movies are shot completely out of order.  Four days later we finished the scene so they had taken pictures in order to make sure all the actors had the same hair, make-up and wardrobe.  They also take photos and have to duplicate the set.  This is called continuity and is the reason you can sometimes find movie flubs of things being there one second and not the next. :-)

Since you don't take pictures while they are filming on set, I get most of my "in action" photos from the monitors.  Sorry these aren't the best...you just get the best you can without disrupting anything.

Working with Kevin Pollak.  He plays her dad's music manager.  She's making him put something into her "swear jar" for cussing.  They have been getting along great and cutting up.

Working with director Andy Lauer between scenes.

You can see the close up of her on A Cam.

Rehearsing

An idea of how many people are actually on a set when it looks like just the cast.

The girl in pink and the fella next to her are the actor's stand-ins.

Stand-ins.

The actors back on set.

Awwww...what a happy family.

Touching moment.

Taking a quick break sitting in the shade in the bus cargo area.

Playing Heads Up yet again.

Cheyenne teaching Avi hand clapping (the patty-cake rhyming thing we used to do as kids).  She picked it up and had it memorized right away....as always.  Yesterday, he said he was going to ask Andy about putting it into a scene they're filming tomorrow where they are singing a song together while he's telling her good night...we'll see it makes it into the movie.

Goofing around at the eclectic coffee shop we were filming at.

Taking a break while they reset.  She's still hanging but it was a crazy late night.  It's not uncommon for actors to have 5:00 pm or later call time and work into the night.  Call Time is the time they need to be at basecamp.  Basecamp is where there is parking, the RV trailers, production area and Craft Services (food) are located.  Sometimes it's near set where the actual filming is happening and other times, they have vans running back and forth to take the actors to set.  So far on this production, we have been within walking distance of set which is nice.

She was in this scene with Christopher Lloyd (he plays her grandpa "Pops" and is in the back) but all his dialog was with Kevin.  Her scenes and dialog with him will be tomorrow and Friday.  All but one of Christopher's scenes in this movie involve her. Eeee!!! :-)

Christopher, Christine and Avi watching Ben (dad) on the stage.  There were about 150 extras in this shot.

This was the dress (from the company's website) that she wore in this scene.  Their stuff is SO cute!!!  The company sent this and several other dresses she'll be wearing for her future scenes.  She's keeping her fingers crossed that she'll get to go home with at least one.  She already scored a custom made purse when it's all said and done and the make-up artists are spoiling her rotten giving her all sorts of products....she's in heaven. :-)

Lots of filming starting tomorrow for another week so I'll add photos as soon as I can.
Love you all and thanks for the support and good wishes!! :-)
